Lil Tecca
Tyler-Justin Anthony Sharpe (born on the
26th of August, 2002) is known as Lil Tecca, is an American musician and
rapper. His 2019 single "Ransom" was his breakthrough hit. It reached
number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100. The single was released as part of his debut
mixtape "We Love You Tecca" (2019) that peaked at the top spot on the
US Billboard 200. The mixtape also included singles "Love Me",
"Did It Again" and "Did It Again". The debut album of his
studio called Virgo World (2020) was released at #10 on the Billboard 200 and
included the Billboard Hot 100-charting songs "Dolly" as well as
"When You Down". The second mixtape, We Love You Tecca 2, was
released in August 2021 . It included "Repeat It" and "Lot of Me".
Tyler-Justin Anthony Sharpe was a child of Jamaican immigrants. He was born on
August 26, 2002, in Queens, New York City. Sharpe was raised in Springfield
Gardens a neighborhood of Queens and later moved to Cedarhurst in Long Island.
Sharpe was always hoping to join the NBA as a youngster however, when he was 12
Sharpe decided to pursue his career in music. Sharpe attended Lawrence High
School. When Tecca was nine years old, he adapted to his passion for music by
rapping along with his friends over his mic on his Xbox. The two would create
diss tracks on one another. One of them was uploaded on SoundCloud some time
ago, but it was later removed. When he was a child in high school, he had no
plans to pursue an income in music, and instead dreamed of becoming an NBA
star. When he was in middle school However, he began to become bored with
basketball and began taking music seriously. His first single,
"Tectri", which was a hit in spring of 2017 was produced with the
help of Lil Gummybear. He also released "Callin", another of his
early songs. Tecca's career exploded a year later with the hit single
"Ransom" that was released to Cole Bennett's Lyrical Lemonade YouTube
channel in May 22nd, 2019. The song reached number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100
chart. The track has had more than 990 million Spotify listeners and more than
300 million YouTube views.
